Director
Edgar Wright is an English film director, screenwriter and producer. He is known for his fast-paced satirical genre films such as Scott Pilgrim vs the world, baby driver & Shaun of the dead.
He has won many awards for the way he can combine comedy, romance, and even fantasy into enjoyable well-known films.
Wright made his feature film debut in 1995 with an Independent spoof western, A Fistful of Fingers, which was broadcast on the satellite TV channel, sky movies. It caught the attention of Matt Lucas and David Walliams who chose him as the director for their comedy production mash and peas.
He then went on to direct the British comedy series asylum in 1996 which ran for 6 episodes.
In 1998, Simon Pegg and Tallulah Hynes brought Wright onboard to direct their sitcom spaced; Edgar Wright then went on to collab with Simon Pegg for the comedy horror film Shaun of the dead in 2004.
In 2010, Wright directed the 2010 comedy film Scott Pilgrim vs the world which let Wright win the Empire award for best director.
In 2017, Wright directed the action thriller film Baby Driver, he also wrote the script and co-produced the film which was made on a budget of US $34 million. The film grossed the US $226 million worldwide and received positive reviews.
Edgar wrights films are (to me) something new and interesting, he uses music and editing techniques to really make his movies flow smoothly and keep you hooked throughout.
